The Context — The History
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego served in Nebuchadnezzar's Babylonian court where empire demanded absolute loyalty. Fiery furnaces were instruments of execution for those who defied royal decrees.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
The king demanded worship of his golden image; the three Jews refused. Before the furnace, they testified that God could save them—and would—whether or not he chose immediate rescue.
