The Context — The History
The ordination of priests and consecration of the tabernacle completed the system through which Israel would approach God. Sacrifices, incense, and ritual holiness were not ends in themselves but the means by which God's dwelling among his people became real.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Exodus 29 details how Aaron and his sons were to be ordained with offerings, garments, and seven days of consecration. The chapter closes with God's promise that once the tabernacle was established, he would dwell among Israel and be their God in covenant relationship.
