The Context — The History
While Jerusalem was under Babylonian siege, Jeremiah was commanded to buy a field at Anathoth as a sign that God would restore the land. His prayer in chapter 32 wrestles with God's power in the midst of national collapse.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Jeremiah obeyed God's strange command to purchase land during a siege. Overwhelmed by circumstances, he turned to God and acknowledged the Lord as Creator of heaven and earth before this declaration of divine omnipotence.
