The Context — The History
Jesus sent the twelve on mission in Galilee with warnings of persecution and family division. Roman and religious powers threatened those who publicly aligned with Jesus' kingdom announcement.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Chapter 10 balances cost and care—sparrows valued, confessing Christ before men, taking up cross. True life comes through losing self-preservation for Jesus' sake, not clinging to safety.
