The Context — The History
Elijah fled to Horeb after Jezebel threatened his life, discouraged despite victory on Mount Carmel. God met him not in wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a gentle whisper, reorienting prophetic ministry away from spectacle toward attentive listening.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
At the mountain of God, Elijah sheltered in a cave while the Lord passed by. Powerful phenomena preceded God's presence, yet the Lord was not in them. After the fire, a low whisper drew Elijah out to receive renewed commission and perspective.
The Echo — Follow-on Verses

1 Kings 19:11
