The Context — The History
Ezekiel prophesied among exiles in Babylon after 597 BC. In chapter 11, he confronts leaders in Jerusalem who gave false security while the city headed toward destruction.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
God told Ezekiel that leaders who said 'We will replace the fallen bricks with dressed stone' would fall by the sword. After judgment on corrupt counsel, God promises inward transformation for those who return to Him.
