The Context — The History
Zephaniah prophesied during Josiah's reforms in Judah (late 7th century BC). He warned of the coming 'day of the LORD' — a day of wrath against sin that would touch Judah and the nations.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Chapter 2 calls surrounding nations to seek the Lord before judgment arrives. Zephaniah urges the humble who obey God's commands to seek righteousness and humility, perhaps finding shelter on the day of wrath.
