The Context — The History
Jairus, a synagogue leader, fell at Jesus' feet begging for his dying daughter. In the same scene, a woman with chronic bleeding pushed through the crowd — two desperate people in a culture where ritual impurity carried stigma.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
While Jesus was still speaking to the healed woman, men arrived saying Jairus' daughter had died. Jesus told the synagogue leader not to be afraid but to believe, then continued toward the house to raise her.
